Willa Kwiatowa - Flower Villa, 1903

Willa Kwiatowa - ul. Kwiatowa 2 It is a distinctive period structure in a compact downtown development with the buildings situated on neighbouring plots, four-storey, with a basement and an attic. The building was erected in a traditional brick and is moved back a little deeper into the plot area against the development line of the adjacent buildings. The front of the building is symetric. The central point of the elevation is the entrance gate, topped with an arch, that you can drive into the yard. Over the entrance gate at first floor level there is a loggia kept in the same style. The elevation of the 2nd and 3rd floor is decorated with pilaster strips placed along the mid windows. The facade is raised above the cornice line accordingly to where the moulding is placed. The groundfloor is decorated with rustication and is additionally separated from the remaining part with a broad cornice. The decorative elements of the higher levels are balconies partially leaned against the side gables of the neighbouring buildings. The front elevation of the building is ornamentially and finished with a cement calcareous plaster. The yard elevation is covered with mulicoloured clinker brick.

The building has undergone numerous renovations which has enhanced its quality and has not complemented its unique characteristic style. The works included:

  • the general renovation of the façade and back elevation under the surveillance of the art restorer (2006/2007)
  • renovation and adaptation of the facades of the front commercial premises (2006/2007)
  • the central heating system (2003)
